Looking for an incentive to ditch the car and go green? Ride Houston connects you with the Bayou City’s growing mass transit options via your iPhone or iPod Touch. The app delivers METRO’s bus and rail routes, schedules and maps to the palm of your hand.

Ride Houston also helps you find the METRO bus and rail stops closest to your location. Then you can access map and street information or go straight to Google Maps for walking and riding directions for getting to transit points from wherever you are.

When looking at the nearest stops, you can immediately see all bus and rail lines that serve each. Then you can plan ahead for transfers and view the stops on the trip you’ve chosen that connect to additional bus routes.

And, of course, you can use the app to simply see METRO basics. Ride Houston provides comprehensive route information that includes stop listings as well as maps and schedules. In addition, RideHouston links to the trip planner as well as the system schedule and map information at ridemetro.org.
